Vehicle and Load Safety

This comprehensive Driver CPC module for HGV drivers covers vehicle and load safety, from daily vehicle checks at the start of the shift through to securing the load for delivery. Available as an online course or in the classroom, it counts towards the 35 hours of periodic Driver CPC training required every five years.

Drivers learn how to carry out thorough daily walkaround checks, report and record defects correctly, and apply safe load securing principles to prevent load shift, overloading and loss of load. The module also explains what enforcement officers look for at the roadside, helping HGV drivers stay compliant, avoid prohibitions and penalties, and protect themselves, their operator and other road users.
